Fewer crashes 'since toll charge'
It appears that...
And thus the...
and...
This all sounds great, until you read that the volume of traffic has actually reduced by FIFTEEN PERCENT. By my maths, that means that the proportion of accidents per number of cars has actually gone up!!
Remind me not to get insured my More Than - maybe they should be renamed to "clueless"!

Road accidents in central London have fallen by 5% since the introduction of the congestion charge/
Insurance company More Than said the scheme was so successful it should be extended around the UK.
David Pitt, head of More Than, said: "From our research we can see that the London congestion scheme has had a positive impact in significantly reducing the number of accidents on the road in the charging zone."

I paid the charge for the first time last week
Havent driven in central london during zoning times as a matter of principal since i moved out of london.
IN the zone didnt really seem much different to how it used to be...
however,as soon as you get outside it- it was a million times worse, from people trying to avoid it.
So well done ken- taken a nice spread of people, and instead now created several new congested areas outside 'the zone'
- i also timed my journey from excel ----> tower gateway.
45 mins on DLR..... 25 mins in car at 8:40am........ ill stick with the car thanks.
10000 people per day x£5...........£50k a day!!!!!!!!!!
