Default We are not a sovereign nation any more...

Slightly older news, but its worth reading....

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main...portaltop.html

TB, PM, has in fact quietly signed away the UKs right to restrict the number of immigrants to the UK last year.

"A rolling wave of protocols and directives - one in force, one coming next month, a third next year and a fourth in 2007 - have overridden national laws on where governments keep asylum seekers, how they treat them, and how many appeals they are allowed."

Trust me, I'm Tony!

Vivre NL!!!!!!

We are still a soveriegn nation, at least until we are bulldozed or conned into accepting the Eu constitution. At the moment we could still renegotiate all these terms that have been signed away by NL on the quiet.

We need a government that is not committed to do the Eu bidding in order to keep them sweet so that the good Eu jobs come their way in the future.

At the moment this country is likely to be sold down the river if we are stupid enough to become federated with the Eu.

Makes me laugh, that NL are now claiming they would employ the same policy as suggested by the Tories.

Agreed, and no one ever seems to pick up on these things. Why isn't it on the news? Why doesn't Kirsty Young say, "Labour are planning changes to immigration procedures........ hang on, isn't that what the Tories got labled racist by Labour for when they suggested the same?"

The whole thing stinks.

Why on earth do you find this surprising, given that they stole nearly all their policies of the last nine years from the Tories?

So that means the Tories really run the country?

I wonder what else they've secretly signed away in Bliar's quest to become the European President?

Whose ever's policies they are using, they are designed for one particular purpose, and that will not help us in any way.

The 'new' post Hutton BBC can no longer be relied upon to give a balanced view of things.

They have effectively become an arm of the New Labour propagandea machine as we saw with their reporting of the rigged RAC speeding poll yesterday.

Yes it has been pretty apparent that the new governors appear to have decided to suppress any real criticism of NL now. They will all do very well and get their KCMG's in due course!

A serious question Les - why do you hate Europe so much? What scares you about it? And what on earth is so big and clever about being a sovereign nation, when the monarch has absolutely no power whatsoever?

Given that we are expected to enact EU Directives into our law within 3 years of their passing, I thought we hadn't been particularly sovereign since 1973. What's changed?
