freeview tv - what sort of aerial?
I want to give NTL the heave-ho, and get a freeview box instead. The only problem is that I don't have an outside aerial at the moment. Does anyone know what sort of thing I'll need, and if I'll need to get on top of the house (three storeys ) to put it up?
Also, is there anything to choose between the different freeview boxes available, or do I just buy the cheapest one?
tia.

You can pick up digital ariels for about £20 from B&Q or Wickes etc. You'll probably then need a fixing kit for another £20 or so. How high and where depends on where the transmitter is and getting a reasonable line of sight on it, check where other ariels around you point. You then have to fiddle about up and down the ladder tweaking a bit here and there till you get a decent picture (analogue will do for starters). Then get yourself a freeview box and plug it in. The other alternative is to get a TV guy in and for about £90 they'll fit the ariel and set it all up for you.
