Question Which licence for driving in the USA

I currently have the old green paper driving licence, (complete with points), I'm of to the jolly old USA in October, do I need to renew the licence for the new photo card type to be able to collect the hire car and drive it ? or will the good old paper one do the job ?

Not sure if it's changed, but I drove in the US in 2002 and I've only got a green paper licence. Didn't seem to cause an issue with the hire car company.

No you'll be fine as long as you keep your passport on you. Remember in the US you have to have your documents on you when driving and you will be asked to produce them if you are stopped by the police, border patrol etc.
