Default Top 100 Music Videos

Blimey, that MC Hammer could move Best dancers so far.

I don't know about you but my most memorable video is the Fat Boy Slim one shot in the Mall with the 'art school' dancers. - Praise You. Funny as f**k

Best of all time is clearly Eric Prydz.... but hold on, Addicted To Love by the late great Robert Palmer should not be ignored...

Sledge Hammer at number 2.

Tiggers will be pleased.

I heard that the animation for the video was done by the same team that did the Evil Dead movies. Is that right?

Whether you like the music or not it was a groundbreaking video - in fact it was one of the first instances of a video driving a song's popularity and to be honest musically it's far from Gabriels's finest work. Think you're right about the Evil Dead team or some of them at least.

What came top of the poll as a matter of interest?

Regards,

tiggers.

Thought that would be the case - fair enough though - it was pretty jawdropping when it was first released even if it did eat up the budget of a small Hollywood movie.

Yep can't disagree with you on that one. I remember everyone staying up to watch it at midnight on Channel 4 the day it was released. It still stands up now, but back then it was like nothing we'd ever seem before as regards a pop promo. I think it made a lot of people realise that the videos for records were now as important as the songs in terms of commercial sales. Don't know whether that is a good or bad thing really.

Was that Thriller? Or Bad.

Don't remember them doing this with Thriller (but I am getting on a bit ) but I certainly remember Bad being shown at some stupid hour, and me baing daft enough to stay up and watch

On a similar theme to this thread, the 'Magic' channel were showing a night of 'Epic' videos on Friday. There was no definition of what made each of them an 'Epic', and IMHO 80% of the ones they showed were utter shoite! (Not that I can remember any of them at this moment in time )

What I want to know is, where was Daft Punk's "Da Funk" video with the dog/man & broken leg? THE greatest video of the 90s, no question.

Another Spike Jonze classic .... in fact the whole bloody thing was a Spike Jonze benefit! Beastie Boys' "Sabotage", the Fatboy Slim "Praise You" & "Weapon of Choice" videos, Bjork .....

Good to see "Windowlicker" in there tho'

Shame that Korn's Freak on a Leash video didn't figure as I think that is fantastic Then again, it's probably not mainstream enough to make it onto such a poll, despite winning awards

No Michael Jackson "Black or White"? Wasn't that the one with McCauley Culkin(sp) starting in Africa? It was also a mini-movie, and ultra-hyped.

The one I always remember was Thomas Dolby's Hyperactive.

I fell asleep between no 8 and 1.

Woke up when Thriller was on, it was an obvious number 1, especially to those of us old enough to have watched it when new.

One of my faves is Virtual insanity, but I started watching the show after 10pm (damn scooby meets ) and so I missed it.

Yep, good to see Chris Cunningham's videos credited, though I would've gone for Come to Daddy over Windowlicker, IMO.
