Shapeshifters - Lola's Theme - again.......
Hello
Yes, I know know I slagged it off last time by saying was like an O'Jays record... well, it is kind of.... but much better than one, and much more 'old skool' than I realised at first. Basically a classic tune.
So, my question is - why are there no amazing remixes? It is such a ripe tune for remixing I'm surprised there seem to be no decent mixes about. Or, are there...???
Freak!!! where are you???

Freak!!! where are you???
couple of bootlegs floating about.
there is one vs stonebridge, one vs brothers in rhythm which is pretty decent, one vs rachael mcbiffa, and one vs khia which is absolutely shocking.
The most popular mixes are:
eric prydz and victor calderone, neither of which really float my boat
IMHO the original version ( on nocturnal groove records) that surfaced about a year prior to its uk release and contained the original samples is the best one... thats the only one i play anyway.
the only other one worth having has never been released.
Its a chill out mix of it, that Mr Pete Tong played as one of his sunset tunes in ibiza last summer from cafe mambo.
Its never been released, and i cant for the life of me track down any info about it.

What is the title of the tune that it is based on then? (Did you say O'Jays?)
I'd love to hear the original... TBH I didn't know it was sampled etc.

The original vocal is from a tune by Anthony White called 'let me love you tonight'. This tune was a favourite in the early 90s of a certain Mr Sasha and digweed ( i have it on an early Digweed Mix album- JDJ silky mix).
The horn sample(main hook) is from Johnnie Taylor - 'What About My Love'
Choo Choo......all aboard

Cheesetastic tune.... one for you Hed Kandi lovers out there. Not my cup of tea. You can tell a crap tune as soon as it's used for every goals compilation on Sky or match of the day.
