Question Police parked on pavement

Driving along a road on the way to work I spotted a police car parked on the pavement 'busting' people for speeding.

Just now, I saw them on the way back from work.

Should I take pictures of them and name/shame or am I likely to be arrested and FUTA?

Photo, and send copy to chief con(man)stable and one to local rag, but try not to let them see you take it!

Just take the photo, they can't do anything so long as you don't park illegally or do anything else illegal in order to get the shot.

Parking next to a D/C on the pavement, on a red route, stopping drivers (saw the dreaded yellow slips, so people were being fined)

Strangely, they were really friendly(!?!) and posed(!)

Here are the pics (hosted on my PC so expect some slowness)

Send to the daily mail for £50?

If they weren't parked on the pavement then they'd be blocking the red route they are there to clear????

Oh hilarity! You are insanely funny!

Do you not think that it is inappropriate for the police to break the law to catch someone breaking the law?

What is the point of the police driving at 150mph to catch someone doing 75 in a 70? What is the point of the police parking on the pavement to enforce parking restrictions? Why is it OK for a traffic warden to park on double-yellows?

If you think these situations are OK, then perhaps it is you who needs help.

Or maybe I have just misread your comments. However, I think that is giving you a little too much credit.

You're breaking the law yourself in the above pic.

Why not start a thread on that?

London area only routes that you get towed away from if you park on them.

Instead of single/double yellows they are red.

Generally on roads that are very busy. There are dedicated traffic wardens in cars that drive around fining people for stopping on red routes.

You're sat on a vehicle parked illegally. Therefore you are in control of the vehicle and open for a fixed penalty notice LOL.

LOL

I think you need a sense of perspective mate

Had your journey, for example, been delayed because of some **** parked on double red lines, or had your house burned down because the fire engine couldn't get through in time, I doubt very much that you would be going to the trouble of complaining about the police parking on the pavement (with no visible obstruction) to enable them to do their jobs.

How much time and effort have you committed to moaning about this, and asking for advice on whether or not to complain officially?

Are your for real

D

I am not sure they have quite that level of freedom. As I understood it (and I may be wrong), the Police are oblidged to abide by the same laws as everybody else. They may however "break" certain laws to aprehend somebody else breaking the law (especially where to not do so may cause a danger to others). So they shouldn't speed to catch you speeding but it is unlikely to stick as they are only doing so in the course of their duties.

Well, I wouldn't go to this degree but on far too many occasions I've seen the police drive irresponsibly (in normal driving) - very much a case of do as I say, not as I do.
