Thumbs down Car Supermarkets....

I was out today picking some stuff up, and drove past one of these car hypermarkets. 1500 cars, the thing said, and so on the way back, I dropped in.
Didn't enjoy it at all tbh.... The salesman approaches you, and asks questions about what price range you're in, before leaving you to walk around all the cars. Don't think he was impressed by the price range I was in like... Said that if I wanted something respectably quick - 7-8seconds etc - I was in the 9-10 grand bracket. Not quite what I had in mind tbh. Thinking more of around £2k - which incidently, I'm sure you can get a perfectly good car for imo

Anyone bought from one of these?
Any good?

Won't catch me going back there I can tell you

A friend at work bought a Citron Xara, in December last year, they told her that the car had a 3 month warranty, the day she picked it up it was MOT'd 3 weeks later she felt the car was not stopping right so took it in to a brake specilist and she had to have new disc and pads they were worn down to the metal and had warped the discs, then last week her catalystic converter went, So I phoned the garage on her behalf and spoke to an area manager, after a bit of too and throwing he agreed to put a new Cat on it and reinbuse her for her brakes
Cheers

They are more interested in the punter buying their finance than the car itself, which is secondary.
