Default Digital Camera advice

MrsREV would like a digital camera for her birthday, just a point and shoot effort for taking snaps of the baby and all the garbage she sells on eBay. She also wants to do some video capture with it.

Basically looking for ease of use, decent quality, reasonable battery life and under £200 (the further under the better, I'm a cheapskate )

Canon Ixus 40 is cracking but a little over £200.... Canon are well know for having the best battery life too

Other than that I'd suggest the Casio Z40 for about £180ish....

Ixus every time, small, easy to use, excellent results, metal and not plastic case, try 7 day shop for prices......
