Angry EU JET LOOSES MY BAGGAGE

I was on a plane back from Scotland last night that was ment to leave at 19:30 it didnt, we left at 21:30 and then got diverted to Gatwick. At Gatwick we were taken to the arrives lounge where we were met with the luggage from the plane. Except mine, One of BAA staff too my details and then sent us on to the coach for the final trip home.

They promised to call before noon with any news, they never called. I called them and i was horrified by the attitude that i was given. They Dont give a toss and was put through to another department. But i could tell this is all falling on deff ears.

I asked about there responcibility and they said they didnt have any. And that i would need to claim on my own insurance !!!

I really am not happy as my bag contained some valuable items, including £400 worth of new un worn cloths still in there bags with the recipts.

Lucky i can prove that i bought them in Scotland as i paid with my Master Card so my Invoice will come through with the time and date on.

But who do i claim from ?

Nobody Gives a S*it

"Lost" baggage currently running at around 12% across most EU airports.

Think about that when your cramming your suitcases full of valuables!

I always thought the airline was liable (to some extent) for lost backage and had at least to pay you a nominal amount in compensation if it happened.

This link from the CAA's website tends to back that up.

http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/306/Mishandled%20Baggage.pdf

Good luck!

Gary.

get in touch with the airlines lost baggage..

normally they will send the bags to you at there expense..

ive had one sent from luxembourg, to germany.. and from mexico city to hermosillo..

my mate had his bag emptied at a spanish airport... he reported it, and got a claim number.. not sure if it was of his own ins, or from the airlines,,

just ring em and moan
