Question House Alarm Bell Boxes - Small and discrete?

Are there any alarm bell boxes on the market other than the big ugly white plastic ones? I need a small discrete one that does not look out of place on an old stone cottage.

Hello

I think the whole point is that they are a visible deterrent. I'm sure if you ask an alarm company they will have others.

Steve.

I have been thinking about a spray of some type, like the radiator sprays from diy shops. There must be one like stone. Or converting the old bird box

Problem is, as Steve says, they're supposed to be a visible deterrent. Otherwise you might just as well lock the thing in the attic where the burglars can't see/disable it easily!

I know what you mean about the visible deterrent.

I have never bothered with an external box before, there are better ways IMO to alert me of any potential intruders.

That's not the purpose of the system, though. The purpose of the system is to alert any potential intruders that there's a security system!

The last thing you want is for someone to break into your house and actually set the system off. You want whoever might have broken in, to break in next door instead.
