I'm gonna move there in 10 years or so, grow fat on cheap junk food and drive a pickup that would make the Friends of the Earth cry.

Ahhh, had to be Blairs fault yet again. A forst tonight, Blairs fault again.
Yes, US prices are certainly more attractive due to one of the highest exchange rates for many a year. I'll bet that they are significantly cheaper over there too when the exchange isn't so favourable though.
At the end of the day market prices are determined by supply and demand, there certainly seems to be demand for Subarus over here at the price they are or they would be priced that much cheaper. Subaru are there to make money at the end of the day just like every other company.
Point of fact its not blairs fault that Subarus are more expensive over here, it's the fault of the people willing to pay the prices. I dare say that across Europe, Britain is not one of the most expensive places to buy a new Subaru, just look at the Republic of ireland and their massive tax on cars.

Different States have different taxed
You can drive to onother state and pay less for certain things Electric wise etc
Income taxes are the same AFAIK different states different %

I earn more, pay less tax and the stuff I have to buy is significantly cheaper in most cases. Rip-off Britain is right.
