can someone please advise me as to which of the following shoe/trouser combinations are acceptable:

1) charcoal suit/brown chelsea boot

Most important point though - never, ever wear black and brown shoes at the same time

As I suspected, brown/grey combinations are no good, despite the fact that's what I've got on today. Must buy some black shoes.

You can wear brown shoes with a mid/dark grey suit but not with any other colour, except for brown; it depends on the tone and style though.
