Default (retard/nieve mode on) buying property abroad what's crack with mortgage etc?

As it says on the tin was just bored (OK i confess was watching places to buy in the sun thingy) & just wondered what the general score was with getting a mortgage or such like if it's for a none UK property & what kind of taxes you'd be looking at for wotever if still doing the UK thing. Any links info etc would be good.....
Just contemplating how feasible it could be as an investment & possibly even sumwhere to go on holiday kinda sheet.

As it's such a big deal nowadays there are mags in WHSmith about buying.financing property abroad. Quite interesting reads.

Generally you will need between 10% and 50% deposit depending on country/developement/resale or new.

PM me for more info,
