Keys stolen from Letting Agent - help needed!!
Can anyone advise regarding this situation?
Our Apartment in Spain was due to be managed by a letting agent - it seems a member of staff from the letting agent left the company taking with her the set of keys for our apartment. It seems this person has been putting tenants in our property and pocketing the cash directly while we are receiving bills (water etc) for usage of the property!
The Letting agent says its out of his hands and we have no further info from the company.
I am travelling out on Sunday to go and change the locks (the only advice from the letting co!) - but if tenants are currently there, can we just put them out on the street?
Can anyone advise on the possible legal issues or useful links?
Could the person who took the keys be prosecuted in any way, if she can be found?
Thanks

I think you'd best find a solicitor who deals in Spanish law. Over here (UK) the agent would have failed in their Duty of Care. They would be responsible for sorting the mess out.
Your best bet will be to contact the solicitor who acted for you on the purchase and get their advise.
I do know of a very good one in Sussex, PM me if you need his details.
