Could be a std lancer (not evo) and a scoob GL and the 323 t isn't the last thing in sports cars. As well as the media 'assuming' that racing was going on, you lot are the same assuming that the cars involved are the fast models.
They may well be the fast models or they may not, the article doesn't give out that info or the nature of the accident. Best wait and see if there are any further developments before casting judgements.
