Default God this is getting me down.

Everytime I look at Yahoo (have to, its my homepage) The total amount of dead out in the earthquake region has gone up.
I do wish they would stop giving us a running total. I feel like I'm taking part in some macabre version of the birthday bong machine, but with a lot less birth and a lot more death in the equation.
astraboy.

Why not make a donation?
Help them out a bit & feel good about yourself at the same time.

Worked for me!

this is the link you need to make a donation peeps

its made through oxfam, therefore the money isnt taxed so what you give is what they get someone commented on the payment to lancer register being taxable, this isnt all your money goes to the people that need it the most.

Agreed. As mentioned on a couple of threads, I do have a friend caught up in all of this in Phuket - which does sort of bring it home to you. I 've been watching Sky News throughout the day in disbelief. It is hard to comprehend the scale of what has happened.

Seeing as I have just spent 60 quid buying a new DVD writer for the PC, I figured I could afford to do a regular monthly donation to Oxfam. If everyone on here did just a tenner a month, it would make a difference. If you do decide to do this, don't forget tick the tax relief option - this allows Oxfam to claim back an extra 28% of your donation from the government.

Unhappy

Or you could give to Unicef for the children as we've done.
www.unicef.org
I know what you mean though Rodders, it is a bit macabre and you just know the numbers will only go up once cholera and typhoid set in

With your kind gift we will be able to bring direct help to millions of children and their families in some of the poorest countries throughout the world. UNICEF uses low cost measures to provide improved health, nutrition, water, sanitation and education programmes. Additionally UNICEF helps children in need of special protection, like the victims of child labour, landmines and those exposed to the ravages of war.
UNICEF is the world's leading children's development organisation, working in over 158 countries. Wherever children lack the basic necessities of life, UNICEF reaches out to help them. It may surprise you to hear UNICEF receives no statutory funding from the United Nations or governments, and so our work is entirely dependent on the generosity of valued supporters like yourself.
On behalf of everyone at UNICEF and all those who will benefit from your gift, thank you.
Your support is really appreciated.

Yours sincerely

David Bull
Executive Director
