Sky Plus in several rooms
Hello
I have finally decided to get Sky Plus. My current set up is the box in the loft and the signal distributed around the house. A couple of the televisions have these "Magic Eye" devices so that you can change channel.
Do the same devices work with Sky Plus?
Thanks,
Steve.

You could run your existing box on one of the spare LNB outputs and have free-to-view digital TV and radio piped alongside your Sky+ premium channels but I guess you'd need a couple more Sky "eyes"

Well, I was just going to buy a box from Dixons or somewhere (£199) and fit it myself if I just have to swap the LNB.
I wouldn't trust Sky to fit anything. The muppet they sent around last time wanted to drill a whole through the wall and place the dish at eye height even though it was a brand new house with an integrated box in the roof and a cable dangling out of the eaves to fit a dish to. I paid a private company to come and do it in the end.

You will need:
- Ladder
- Quad output LNB
- CT100 cable
- F connectors
- Patience
- Someone inside to look at the signal meter on the Digibox shouting left, right, up, down and "you had it just then"
You need two cable runs for Sky+ (one for each tuner) plus one cable run for your existing box (which you already have). Make sure to seal the LNB well as water ingress is a common cause of reception problems.
Like you I don't trust Sky's own installers so I just paid a local independent who were excellent, much less hassle.
