Great for kids, great for adults with kids, lonely time for people with no one.......great profits for retailers and card shops.
For me? Awesome to see the look on my Downsy sis when she opens her pressies, good excuse to drink (I no longer drink due to my training and diet ), catch up with people I haven't seen for ages and to over-eat.
Other than that, Bah Humbug to those who dislike Christmas as much as I do and a Merry Christmas to those who appreciate it.

Ban any form of decorations or playing of Christmas music until Dec 1st!
Dont buy any pressies until December.
Get plenty of alcohol
Veg out in front of the telly
Have snowball fight, if you are lucky enough to get a white christmas.

I must admit I think I miss Christmas in the UK. Going to the pub at midday, only to open the door and have an avalanche of bodies come piling out, go home drunk, stuff yourself with Xmas dinner whilst wearing a piece of coloured paper around your head, pretend to be remotely interested in the Queen's speech whilst uttering the usual derogatory comments, and then fall asleep on the sofa in front of the Bond film.

What does Xmas mean to me?
Well I hate the pre-Xmas hype in September - but I LOVE the day itself!
The look of joy when you have hit the right present cannot be measured.
Everyone, for a day or two at least, are civil and courteous.
Its a time to reflect how your glass is half full and NOT half empty.
Its a time to walk the dog over an empty Watership Down and retire home to Xmas Dinner and a log fire.
Its a time to reflect on those less fortunate, those starving while we have plenty, those mourning the loss of a loved one, those in a hospital bed, those in foreign lands yearning for home, those on the streets, everyone to whom today is just another struggle (lend your thoughts to them for 2 minutes today?)
Enjoy yourselves, wherever you are, whoever you are and in whichever god you beleive in!

I can almost see the tears and snot dribbling down on to your keyboard as you typed that in. What a whinging little dullard you are. I've farted and heard more interesting things than your posts. Be off with you, you waste of molecules.

I agree with every word of PSL's post, what he said is close to what Christmas really means to those who like to think of others as well as themselves.
Denigrating what he said displays a really sad view of life and can only come from a particularly self centred person.
