Question Do cats hate any smells?

Before I throttle my cat..

Little ****** seems attatched to my speakers (literally). Looked round a couple of times to see him clawing the cones on both pairs, yesterday he managed to make a nice hole in the edge of the bass cone. Saw him at it again this morning and notice he's damaged the centre of the cone too.

I left the covers off the speakers because I thought he might leave them alone (as the covers are that nice inviting clawing material). Well, put the covers on just a minute ago to 'sacrifice' them and he wasted no time to put 2 nice holes in one of my b&w sets cover

Was thinking about spraying something on them (obviously not too offensive to humans), trouble is I don't think anything will stop him as he eats anything including sitting on the side of the bath eating the bubble bath

Or should I just zip tie him to a breeze block and pop him in the river

They don't like oranges or any citrus fruits. Try orange peel.

I'm sure more expert cattists will have better ideas, sorry!

Yeah they don't like orange smell, no idea why. Could try spraying orange oil/essance on the covers?

A good beating, or a gentle spraying with a water pistol may also 'teach' them they aren't supposed to touch the speakers.

Tried that and he just runs out the room then will come back and jump on your head or something, he's currently shut out the room for punnishment.

When your cat is hanging of the speaker, give it full blast with the Ace of Spades or something I think the cat will be wary the next time...

Fresh citrus rind.

Water pistol.

Alternative scratch post - new one if need be.

... and 'speak' to them - give them the loudest nastiest HISS! you can muster when they do it ...
