Where does the River Trent rise?
Living here, within a very few miles of Trent Falls, where it meets the Ouse to become the Humber, I've often wondered where it rises.
Unlike the Thames and the Severn, it's not easy to see, nor is it marked on an OS map.
Anyone know? OS coordinates would be nice, or the name of the nearest village, etc?
TIA,
Alcazar

You must get quite a lot of small aeroplanes over your area... I used it as a VRP on quite a few occasions while doing my PPL.
I'd never heard of it called "Trent Falls" before then.

Trent falls it is, locally.
If you look at it from the air, you can see how it narrows at the mouth, which gives rise to a "Bore" at spring tides, known locally as "The Eagre", a wave travelling backwards up the trent as far as Gainsborough or further, anything up to 6 feet high. Awesome.
