Do the anti smoking adverts make you want a cigarette?
Everytime i see the anti smoking adverts on TV, i want a cigarette. I don't smoke anymore and never think about them otherwise. I'm i alone in this and just odd?

To be honest they put me right off and make me feel quite embarassed in front of my wife.
She is a never-smoker and I have smoked on and off for the last 14 years up to 2 years ago.

yes smoking is bad for you but drinking is worse !
you get a load more trouble with drinker's out for the night
drink driving,
anti social problem's etc
none of these issue's when people have a smoke

Make me want a ***??
Nah, how can someone sat there with an oxygen mask on gasping for the breath of life EVER make you want a ciggie??
I packed in 5 years ago - last night, went out for a meal and fancied a cigar afterwards - I didn't.
Quite why anyone would take up smoking in spite of all the death warnings is beyond me .................. and young girls/women who think of their appearance then light a *** and I'm afraid they could have spent 10p on charity clothes ..... they would look more appealing

Yes I feel the same, I accept the extra weight rather than smoking, that advert with the little girl talking about her dad with cancer is really telling. Never want another one ever-not in the least!

Drinking in moderation is not bad for you nor bad for those around you.
Smoking on the other hand is bad for you in moderation and for those around you.
Smoking is highly anti-social and we'll see it banned in public soon

I think the one where they squeeze the liquid fat out of the artery is good.
I don't smoke but if i did those adverts would definately scare me.
Surely it must make you smokers think twice?

I have struggled for years giving up and starting,I've stopped now for two weeks.
I gave up once for 3 years and still fancied a *** after all that time.
Yeh the non smoking ads remind you of smoking.
I find the worst thing is going into petrol stations because they are always stuck right in front of your nose and when you have a beer because you lose your resolve when you have a drink.

Drinking cause's a lot more problem's wether in moderation or heavy in every day life far more than smoking does.IMO

Thats up to those concerned I suppose, binge drinking is seriously bad for you. In moderation alcohol is supposed to be good for you, I enjoy it anyway. And the observation about smoking in moderation is a very good point. Bit like walking in front of buses, sooner or later one will get you!

The ads should be balanced and show all the smokers who have been lighting up for 70 years and never been to the doctor so that we are allowed to see a balanced arguement for smoking or not...
When those ads come on I just turn them over - we're all gonna die of something and the fact that someone Ive never met didnt see his daughter because he's got cancer makes me feel sorry for him and his family but like any other advert on tele, it is not going to have any impact on the way I choose to live me life...
