Without going into the background, I've got 2 new Siemens S65 mobiles that are locked to the Vodaphone network. I'm on O2 The phones have been provided by a Vodaphone dealer that used to also provide O2.

The provider is currently sorting out 2 unlock codes for said phones, but say that it can take upto 21 days!!!

Is this true? If so, is there any way to speed up the process? Such as going to an independant "person" who can unlock phones?

Any ideas, as I've now got no phone and these two VERY nice phones staring at me!!!!

Stick to using codes whatever you do. I'm not totally up to date with that model but most unlocks on late models done by independents involved opening the phone and drilling through the PCB. Other times you may have your phone re-mapped which will affect the signal strength and battery life.
The demand for unlock solutions is such that people will come up with all sorts of dodgy ways to remove the simlock - the simlock may be removed but the phone operation can suffer.

Thanks for the responses, but basically, there is no way of speeding up the official unlock request.......

Anybody on the BBS work for vodaphone?
