Someone's son has gone to school today and won't be going home

Meaning what ?
I got as good as as I gave, there was no choice in the matter, you either stood up for yourself or life was hell.
But these group bullying and school stabbing are sickening and way beyond squabbles.

what?
we already have one post from someone saying he loved fighting at school....which quickly altered into "or your life was hell"
people have always been idiots at school and thought a fight was the best way to solve something......this just seems to have gone too far, perhaps involving an accident?
hardly a reflection on lowering standards?

I used to have punch ups at school, got picked on and I was always taught not to be a victim, kids fight, especially boys, I always knew that I might get beaten but I didnt want it to become a regular occurance because I let it.
What does seem to have changed is the mentaility, no longer is it a case of establishing a 'pecking' order its about really hurting another kid or making their life so miserable the want to top themselves, I am sure bullying has alway one on but it definitely seems nastier these days. My mates lad has seen some really nasty bullying, months of some evil little turd making his life hell, he flipped and got suspended for hitting this kid, typical ignored child of over indulgent but lazy parents he was, my mates lad is now doing really well and is a lot happier at college.
No parent should ever get that phone call, do we know any other details, I suppose it could have been a minor scuffle and slipped, pre existing medical condition, hopefully not a kicking once down as that is a sad indictment of how kids are getting.

Who needs weapons these days. Four 10 stone teenagers bouncing up and down on a skull usually does the trick these days and there is no risk of being done for intent in your Reeboks :rolleyes;

We had a few bullies at my primary school and they used to make our lives hell as younger pupils. One day we got fed up with it and about 20 of us jumped on one of the bullies. We really took him apart and he had a good few bruises and a good nose bleed. The worse thing for him however was the loss of face
We did not have any more trouble with him or his cronies.
