Default Survey for office of National Statistics

Anyone been asked to do this, we have an appointment for someone to come round ror an hour to quiz us about our income and outgoings for statistical purposes.

Not being funny but if it's on behalf of the government they can go stick it.

Unfortunately they can't. I tried telling them to go and shove it, but they have the law on their side. Ho hum.

Nothing to say that you have to be able to remember anything though
How much do you earn? - Dunno
How much do you spend on x? - Dunno

errrr so by law i'm supposed to tell them how much disposable income I have, so next budget they can sting me for another load of tax

Call me cynical but this government doesn't exactly inspire confidence in my eyes.

Nope, it is for statistical purposes only. You can ask them about that before they start and they will give you the requisite information. The National Statistics Office are the people who compile the stats that go part way towards telling us how the country and its inhabitants are doing economically.

Like you I was unsure of their motives (still am a little bit), but it all passed off without any fuss. I also have to report to them every few monhs for my company turnover so Iam getting quite familiar with them.

Regards,

tiggers.

We get enquiries from the Office of National Statistics fairly often at work about the company's workload and turnover.

File 13 anyone?

John.

Probably for statistical purposes in order to work out the best kind of stealth tax to introduce because they have got the economic projections seriously wrong, as we will eventually find out!
