And I know it's probably not very good for you, but anyone who has a Majestic Wine shop near them should get down there now. Bitburger is on special and it's luverly! £18 for a crate.
I am going to fill my boots tonight!

Bitburger. German.
Sold to the masses in a little village called Nurburg (and other areas of Germany/Europe no doubt).
It does alot of motorsport advertising.
Heard of Warsteiner??

I frequent the one in St James. You get good service there and the last time I went, they actually carried the case to my car for me

http://www.howtobrew.com/ is a very comprehensive reference - a complete online book, in fact. All the supplies you need are available from http://www.the-home-brew-shop.co.uk/ (give them a call, they know their stuff inside out and can recommend all the right equipment), and there are some beer recipes at http://www.alpha-byte.demon.co.uk/welcome.htm. The CAMRA book 'Brew Your Own British Real Ale At Home' contains a huge selection of recipes as well as a rather more straightforward explanation of the brewing process without getting bogged down in chemistry.

I must be getting old coz whenever i go out for a night out, i'm more concerned about getting a decent pint rather than where all the totty is
Is wine as easy?

Developed quite a taste for Hobgoblin at 25% less at Majestic than Tesco. They also do some good deals on Belgian beers IIRC. Budvar, Pilsner Urquell? Loverly stuff but a bit pricey in WA. Best I've found so far, 'Down under', is James Boag's Premium from Tasmania. Worth a look if you can find some.
Aussie beer is, on the whole, average at best compared to those mentioned above. There's a few good 'uns and it's been fun trying to find them
I have, however, never tried Bitburger. I'll see if the local bottleshop has any.

As we're on the subject of good german beer over her, does any one know it you can get Atkien (Sp) in the UK. I cut my teeth on that stuff on my first real drinking session in the Bovarian Alps in 92.
Funnily enough I can't drink any of the british beer, IMHO it all tastes like cr*p.
