Dublin stag do advice needed
Ok, Im best man for a mate and he's not keen on being whisked away and punished by 20 of his mates with strong bavarian lager
I can persuade him to go to Dublin but could do with a plan of action as I dont know what's there.
He's into activity type stuff (paintball / go karts etc) Also wants a meal in some sort of country retreat before a night out in some good bars.
The Guiness factory is a must too.
Help appreciated!

Give the guiness factory a miss mate, its a rip off. I think it was 16 euro to get in ( about £12) and you get 1 pint of guiness, if you want more you've got to pay a hiked up price
theres no guided tour anymore either, its all silly press this button video screens
just go to temple bar and get hammered
Phil

First and foremost Dublin tends to not like stag parties and if a group of 20 off you try to get in a pub you've no chance and the chances are if you go to temple bar (the area) and you all get turned away you will get turned away from the majority as the doorman radio the other bars further down so if you must go to Dublin be wise and use common sense and split up into small groups.
Get the Seacat from either Liverpool or Angelsey i personally would go from Liverpool as it gives you 4 hours of drinking on the ferry and warms you up nicely and as for a nice meal well after drinking 10 pints of guiness on the ferry i doubt you will want to eat anything.
one bit of advice if you can go for a long weekend and make the most of it

Mark - Go to Cork instead. No problems with large groups (within reason) plenty of bars\clubs etc.
Drive to Pembroke - get the ferry or cat across to Rosslare, nice afternoon drive to Cork. Alternative is Swansea to Cork ferry.

Simple: Don't go.
It's a rip-off, they don't want you there and you'll come back skint.
I went to Talin for a stag weekend last year and it was fantastic. Cheap, welcoming with everthing a group of lads could want - if you get my drift

Go to Kilkenny..its miles better than Dublin.its just a huge rip off.
In Kilkenny there are over 120 bars in a 2 mile radius of the centre.Westminster road has 11 pubs next door to each other..couple of jars in each will certainly get ya goin!!Accomodation around the area is generally of a good standard with many restaurants to suit all tastes in and around Kilkenny.
There is brilliant golf and fishing facilities but aint really hunted for anymore activities than that..ale consumption is usually the main one ya see.
People are brill over there and welcome you with open arms as long as ya aint bein a dick of course..
We usually get a flight to Dublin and get hire cars and drive down, its about an hour away.
Flight, car hire and accomodation usually come to about £220 each but we generally stop for 4 days,so we can try and have a pint in every pub!..we aint managed it yet!!
Ha ha..have a good time wherever ya go..but my advice is stay away from Dublin,im sure ya will be disapointed and skint when ya return home..

Thanks for all the advice, really appreciate it and some good advice there. I wasn't aware of the issues with Dublin, but will give it a miss based on people comments!
Its tricky as he really wouldn't thank me if I got him pissed or hired strippers etc, but the rest of us are really used to drinking til sick, drinking games, strip clubs (and worse!) Trouble is that the rest might be bored, so need to strike up a compromise...
Kikenny sounds like its worth a look...
Been to Barcelona Hope you visited the Bagdhad club?!

Agree with the Dublin comment, any more than three guys with no chicks and you can forget about getting in most pubs.
Been to Cork on a stag earlier this year, excellent, think there was about 20 of us and had no problems.

Oh brilliant... I`m off to Dublin next April.. 8 of us...
Its all booked and paid for.
I`ll take the advise of small groups but...it looks to be not much more expensive that Manchester city centre.
