my friend has just had his car written off, he preferably wants to buy it back as the damage was not very severe, just back bumper really, how does he go about buying the car back and how much do they usually go for as he's been given 1500 pounds for it.

He needs to speak to the insurance company. I had an old VW Scirocco written off and they told me I could keep it gratis as it wasn't worth anything to them and indeed it would be a hassle to dispose of.
