Any Gold Dealers for advice please
Wonder if any one can help, the wife took her chain into the Jewellers for minor repair. The chain cost £650 in 1993 ish. The problem being the chain has got lost, if the chain is not recovered what would the value be in todays terms. Also sentimental reasons as it was a present. How long do we give the shop to find the item before I raise my voice.

Gold content value is likely to be well, repeat well, below shop price of chain, then or now, because of mark-ups (assuming bought from shop in' 93) so gold dealer might be of limited value. Have you got original receipt? Unlikely perhaps. Shop better start looking pdq. Give them a week, to answer your question. Then either full compensation although I expect they may offer modern equivalent but it better be a good one. Hope it works out. DL
