Default Mobile Phone Insurance

Ok, so I got conned in the shop and ended up poaying £7.99 a month to 'insure' my phone, eventually (about 5 months later) I get round to cancelling it. (I don't lose things, and consider mobiles to be fairly robust), fine , no problems.

Almost immediately the phone starts to crackle whrn talking, 2 weeks later, it works, although refuses to accept a charge. now, no battery left, and will still not accept charge.

In the period between stopping the insurance and my phone packing up I received a Sim card update.

Is this sod's law or am I right in being a little paranoid that the sim card update has f**ked my phone because i dropped out of the insurance?

Your views please....

If your phone is under a year old it will still be under warranty. Take it back to the shop for repair.
