Hi peeps,

Just a quick one, as above are accountants like solicitors and the like and required to keep all information confidential ? For example could they discuss your business with another member of your family ? I know it sounds dodgy but its not honest

Yes they are required to keep information confidential. If you are worried they won;t don't use them! However money laundering regulations mean that along with oter professionals if they believe you have acquired money illictitly they have to report it.

Apart from anything else, they would at least have to comply with the Data Protection Act. So yes they would be expected to respect your confidentiality.

Cheers for the info. It's nothing dodgy really.I just use the same accountant as some of my friends and I really dont want them finding out what im up to. Its nothing remotely connected to money laundering. You need some money to be able to launder in the first place
