Question Anyone know a company that can transport a fork lift truck

for a reasonable price?

My company have some on Ebay and have told people to collect them, but as we are a helpful company, we are trying to find out companies who can get transport them.

Before anyone deletes this as advertising, we actually specialise in Electronic Document Storage, scanning and secure offsite storage! So not advertising fork lifts, OK?

I've driven past one of the depots (between Tamworth and the Belfry) of these people : http://www.archerstransport.co.uk/

I'm sure their trucks are marked up as offering fork lift transport.

Hi Clare

Apologies if you've already tried this but go to yell.com and type in heavy haulage companies. I'm not sure where you are in the country so wouldn't want to recommend the guy's we've used before for heavy machinery but you may find someone more local from there.

Best bet is to ring a company that leases fork lift trucks as they will have the capability to collect and deliver them.Part of leasing is the collection/delivery of them.
Also if the person who buys your truck has a service contract (assuming they have some already) then the servicing agent may also have the equipment to collect.

Offering to deliver may not be your best option.

Who services your trucks,is it an outside company, ask them for advice?

Thanks Jo, will try that.

Paul, we haven't had them long, so no service contract on them. Guy we've sold it to doesn't have any other either.

We didn't offer to deliver it, he just wants to know if there's anywhere local to us - we're near Northampton.....

we have use a company called deeping direct before in peterbourough, for moving generators, I know he has Hiab wagons... not sure if you can lift a fork lift with a hiab though.

also if you do a yell, search for crane hire as well, as haulage Co's advertise their Hiab vehicles in this category.

where is the fork lift going to?, I know a few companies around the UK we have used before.

another outfit is http://www.milbank-trucks.co.uk/s_s_plant.shtml

always tell them you are in no rush and will wait for a part load. oooerrr

It's going from the West of Northampton, near junction 16 to Bedford. Not that far. Have been quoted varying rates TBH... Cheaper the better really!

type 60223 into the serach.

then pay an employee with a towbar £50 to deliver it.

Unfortunately our work is only really in and around Yorkshire. As has been said it may be worthwhile trying local plant hire companies - I'm sure one will be able to do a low loader move for you
