Orange phone not receiving text messages :(
Hi All
Anyone had this problem with Orange before? I have a Nokia 6100 and it stopped receiving text messages yesterday (tuesday) afternoon. I have pending delivery reports in my inbox (although they have been sent and received!!!), and other people who have sent me texts have them as pending delivery in their inboxes!
I have been in contact with Orange who can't seem to shed any light on the situation, apart from wait! They told me to type ##002# then the green call button to help anything that might be stuck in the system, but that hasn't worked.
Can anyone who might be a phone wiz tell me anything else i might be able to do?
Many thanks

You may have already tried this but just in case. Try forcing the phone to do a re-attatch to the network either by making a call or by turning the phone off then back on again. This sometimes gives stuck messages a bit of a kick. Orange used to be pretty bad for this a few years ago, particulary in poor coverage areas.
Not sure what network equipment vendor Orange uses for its infrastructure, but it's not the one i work for. So i can't offer any other advice really other than to keep on at customer services if it doesn't sort itsself.

There should be an option for the phone to search for a network, somewhere in the menus. Although the other networks, voda, O2, etc. should be greyed out get the phone to search for one anyway. Once it's said unavailable you should be in SOS calls only mode. Then go back into the same menu and search the Orange network. Once it's found it switch the phone off then on again and hey presto you'll be bombarded with SMS and reports
I did this exact thing with help from the vodafone operator just the other night.

If it is a new phone Orange may have forgotten to activate your multimedia features. They **** mine up every time I upgrade. Give them a call 150 or 152 I think.
Orange are crap these days and getting crapper IMHO.

Try to connect your phone to another network say t-mobile.. then reregisted it back with orange. You do this through the handset the same as if you were roaming abroad
