Barclaycard offer
My wife has just informed me of a cracking b/card offer
2.9% on balance transfers for the life of the balance!!
no £50 spend to qualify
just done a quck transfer from my 14% cards
there is a 2% handling fee on each transfer... still a saving though
its better than the 6% i,m getting at the mo

Barclaycard are the land of extremely low credit limits when doling out new cards for new offers.....many are lucky to get a £2k limit!
Whereas Egg etc seem happy enough to give out £15k limits at 0% quite readily to me & others.....

Egg also give you a new balance transfer period for 6 months from the date you started your card each year. would be frighteningly easy to get completely screwed with the credit limits though. They seem to default to about 8k unless you ask for more, so you get 15k. next step is 25k. then they offer you an Egg Blue

Barclaycard were doing a 0% for life offer a while back, but it was only available from those little kiosks they set up in shopping centres and airports.
I didn't see it anywhere i went, good deal though by the sound of it.

Just one note of caution. If you use the card for NEW purchases, any payment you make is first of all allocated to the balance transfer amount. Which means that the new purchases are steadily accumulating interest at whatever their standard rate is (15%???) - so by the time you've paid off your balance transfer those new purchases may have grown dramatically.
This is only a problem if you use it for new purchases - if you're just gonna use it for balance transfers then there's no such problem.

£15k on a credit card???? Can you sleep at night?
As for Egg - used to have an Egg Card - when I switched bank accounts I missed ONE payment and I have never known credit control like it. I had at least one text/ phone call/ letter AND email every single day while I sorted it out. Even though I explained exactly what happened, resolved it as quickly as I could and they said they'd 'made a note on my account'.
I payed the whole damned thing off sharpish and will never again touch them with a barge poll so there!

I got on the 0~% for life (balance trans.) on the b-card.
minimum monthly spend is £1, minimum monthly interest is 50p
transferred 5k a while back and set up a minimum payment direct debit.
nice.
soon after I applied they changed to a £25 montly spend and tried to fob me off with that.
quick call later and I was back to cooking on gas.
woo yay!
top part is, football season tickets also qualify for 0% from now on.
warning about using it to make purchases is true because the transfer is paid off before they take anything off your purchases.
