BBC selective reporting....
Anyone noticed how the BBC seem to be very selective and what they report and how they report it? Pretty clear that theyre painfully politically correct with much of their reporting, however its interesting to note that they havent had an article on the latest hometrack.co.uk report suggesting gloom in the housing market.
When things look rosy they have an article on the hometrack monthly report, yet yesterdays report was totally ignored by the BBC, when Reuters, Sky and all other major news groups reported it?

Have you only just noticed this? The media in the UK are just about the worst in the 'free world' and the BBC are as bad as any of them these days. Their reporting is laced with bias whereas in times gone by they were always reasonably objective.
The problem is a lot of people in the UK tend to take what the media say as gospel and never bother to question what they are being told. For instance the whole illegal immigrant/asylum seeker thing is blown out of all proportion by the media so now many in the UK now firmly believe we have people flooding in unchecked by the thousands. Witness the BBC and others promise of an immigrant invasion earlier this year when the EU was expanded - didn't happen of course, but did they tell us they were wrong - of course not.
I find it's far better to remain sceptical of anything you get from the media these days and do some more objective research before forming an opinion.

tiggers.

Absolutely, Tiggers, I never believe anything I haven't seen on Scoobynet:
On a more serious note, my dad, now housebound, insists on believing EVERY DAMN THING he reads in whatever paper he happens to be taking at that time
Thankfully, he never takes the Mirror, Sun or Star

Quite... And did you notice the leader on Monday's News at Ten??
Some explosives were stolen in Iraq 'after the war' - which may now be in the hands of terrorists.
Hardly a newsflash or worthy leader.... Unless it was put there to pave the way for a big assault now we have the Black Watch in Baghdad?!?!?

Well you lot are lucky!!! I can rarely find news on BBC News 24! You see I have a telly in the kitchen connected to an old unused Telewest cable connection and I can get news 24 on it...except, when I get up in the morning there's two numnutts on a sofa talking about antique glass or someone's bloody book! I dont care!!!! I want to know how well our Yankee buddies are doing in Eye-rak in the name of dee-mo-crahhzee! >better now; been bottling that a while<
NEWS 24? My ****! This Morning with less calories and fewer coloured lighting gels more like!

What you have to remember is that the BBC is concerned to make sure that its' charter will be renewed. Why else are they constantly plugging digital services ? Surely to be able to say to Government we're encouraging people to go digital so the gov. can flog off the analogue wavelengths. Witness how post Hutton the BBC gets behind Gov. campaigns such as all the weight loss and fitness stuff. IMHO an organisation seeking to ensure its' survival.

I really wish they'd just tell the BBC to run adverts and scrape telly tax, how much is the license these days? 100quid or something isnt it?
Just really annoyed me that they blatently didnt run an article on this months hometrack house price article just because it shows a v.gloomy situation - almost like Gordon Brown is pulling the strings, so readers are only exposed to articles which wont risk denting consumer confidence much...
