Default Courier for Alloys

Hi all

Can anyone recommend a courier to collect from Sheffield and deliver 4 alloys to the Portsmouth area?

Also anyone know how heavy an STi 8 alloy wheel and tyre is?

I'm guessing about 10 Kg.

Thanks in advance

Tony,

I paid £50 to send 4 x audi 16" alloys with tyres and 1 extra tyre from Huddersfield (30 miles form Sheffield) to Portsmouth last month. I used a company called Huddersfield express couriers but they like most are just a local company that will then use a major national company to do the bulk of the miles.

If they are some you have bought private then ask the seller if they would take them to their local courier depot, mine even gave 17.5% discount for cash

I paid about 50 quidish for some wheels & tyres - tip for packaging- get yourself a plywood cable drum from a building site or work, and get some 10mm screwed rod. Split the drum, and sandwich the wheels inbetween the drum sides. Put some rope toggles through the spare holes and the whole lot can be picked up and carried easily.

I just put mine in bin bags with cqrdboard top and bottom. Don't package them all together you won't lift them. Stating the obvious I know but the courier said it amazed him what some people did.
