What surprised me was the rigidity of the german family, set meal times, wife does everything at home, kids come home expecting meals ready, etc.Having said that the uk family had a crap diet and watch too much tv.
Better than some of the slanging mathces you usually see.

paulr, its absolutely typical of the germans to be that efficiant I thought it was great, nice to see they learn some parenting skills on that little brat who threw a wobbler at the german woman. nice to see the ignoring trick working although I dont think I would have resisted giving him a crack round the head lol
was dissapointed by the fat english trog though, you could tell how cold she was gonna be to the germans the second they introduced themselves to her.....

I'm so glad that Sharon realised how damned lazy she'd been!! There was a classic moment in the German supermarket when she was fed up that no-one spoke any English.....
I wonder how much notice they get of this? Surely if you'd been told you were off to Germany for a wife swap you'd make some effort to at least learn some basics and/ or take a phrase book with you????
I usually can't stand the programme but lets just say that, as a girl, I wasn't in full control of the remote.......

We used to have decent standards like that in this country in past years. That was when children, like their continental couterparts, were generally good mannered and didn't tour around looking for people's property to trash just for the hell of it.
