Am considering a dvd recorder for home and just noticed this one at Scan...

Not bad for £135.Anyone got one or can recommend a good un?
Would be nice if the thing does +R and -R but not that bothered really.Price is more important lol
Do some of these things now support things like Video + ??
Any info welcome

It's £149 on the link I've clicked to. I bought one of those when it was £185 at Amazon. Decent player for the money. One niggle was the TV tuner picture which was a bit dark.
As far as compatibilty is concerned, I think all DVD+RW machines have a problem playing back on other players. My current Philips machine has some way of trying to make them compatible by adjusting recorded titles, don't know if it works though.

+ is a bit iffy when trying to use it in other players. I use -R / RW and ive used it in other toshy and panny units and havent had any problems.
You would be better off with something like this
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...roductID=79932
which also plays MP3 divx wma ect ect.
But considering you can get the Toshiba rdxs32 with a dvd-r/rw/ram and a 80gb pvr hard disc for £360. I know what I would go for.

My only thoughts would be.
Be careful buying "cheap" bits from Scan.
If it was to go wrong (I'm not saying it will) then, Ive had loadsa trouble with getting things returned to them.
And I know I'm not the only one!
However if all is well, there great to deal with!
Heck, my company spends lots of money with them!
Food for thought I guess.
