eBay bidding mystery - well it is to me anyway!
I keep on getting outbid by a few pence. What I mean by that is I get my bid in for say 5 pounds and later on someone beats me with a bid of £5.01 despite the next minimum bid increment being £5.50. How does this occur?

Or they are using an auction sniper to bid in the last seconds and outbid you by pennies... you could use one of these but they charge a 'small percentage' of final price so check t&c's if you go down that route...

OK, maybe my example above was a poor one - apologies.
A more accurate one is to say that that I bid £5.01 (I always add the 1p extra on small bids & add more on larger values) about 2 hours before it finished and was outbid by £5.03 but with more than an hour to go on the auction. I use auction stealer on a 'yo tightness' freebie basis (3 free bids a week each bidding 10 seconds before the end), but wasn't aware that there were tools where you can bid with hours to go & get on in between the current price & bid increment. In this case I bid £5.53 & won but is it possible to win at £5.04?
