Just starting to get into them after borrowing some of my brothers CDs. And hearing Nothing Else matters the other day....quality song.

I've got all of their albums since the year dot, plus loads of bootleg live gigs. Seen them live 4 times and caught a Hetfield pick when i was in the crowd at the last gig i saw in Cardiff.

Not so keen on their later stuff but they used to rock. Into more mellow stuff these days (and Slayer on occasion since they haven't sold out).

Hey
I'm your life
I'm the one who takes you there
hey
I'm your life
I'm the one who cares
they
they betray
I'm your only true friend now
they
they'll betray
I'm forever there

I'm your dream, make you real
I'm your eyes when you must steal
I'm your pain when you can't feel
sad but true

I'm your dream, mind astray
I'm your eyes while you're away
I'm your pain while you repay
you know it's sad but true

you
you're my mask
you're my cover, my shelter
you
you're my mask
you're the one who's blamed
do
do my work
do my dirty work, scapegoat
do
do my deeds
for you're the one who's shamed

I'm your dream, make you real
I'm your eyes when you must steal
I'm your pain when you can't feel
sad but true

I'm your dream, mind astray
I'm your eyes while you're away
I'm your pain while you repay
you know it's sad but true

hate
I'm your hate
I'm your hate when you want love
pay
pay the price
pay, for nothing's fair

hey
I'm your life
I'm the one who took you here
hey
I'm your life
and I no longer care

I'm your dream, make you real
I'm your eyes when you must steal
I'm your pain when you can't feel
sad but true

I'm your truth, telling lies
I'm your reasoned alibis
I'm inside open your eyes
I'm you

sad but true

I'm sorry but Sad But True must be one of the weakest songs they have done

Puppets and Lightning were by far the highest points of their music IMHO. Never liked anything post Metallica (or Black Album whatever you want to call it) but slowly appreciating it. St Anger I found very average.

Slayer's Reign In Blood absolutely ROCKS

I love enter sandman and nothing else matters. I have a vid of johnfelstead driving around the ring with someone from SN singing and playing nothing else matters and it sounds pretty good - cant remember who did it though.

Simon.

P.S. Its about 81mb otherwise I would upload it now.

metallica are ace but i havent really listened to much of the earlier stuff like ride the lightning and so on.but a few songs from st anger really appeal to me especially the unnamed feeling.love that song.

pantera are amazing also favourites include domination, cemetary gates and im broken and of course cowboys from hell.got the 101 proof album in the car and it is amazing.put on walk and turn it up \m/

then there is the likes of machinehead, slayer, killswitch engage, slipknot, stonesour and children of bodom that are in the metal collection on the computer.

good to get you fired up for nice days jumping(not as random as it reads by the way) or going for a blast round the woods.

Hello

They used to hang around in Pizza Express in Cobham apparently. My wife even went to dinner with one of them (when she wasn't my wife!).

Oh, how I laughed when I found that out!

They've actually got a behind the scenes film out at the moment about the making of the last album

Metallica: Some kind of monster.

Read Review

Supposed to be really good. That's if you can actually find a cinema thats showing it though.

Seen 'em 7 times so far and I started playing drums cos I wanted to be Lars!

Best live band I have ever seen - the Milton Keynes Bowl and Monsters of Rock headline gigs are the best shows I have ever seen.

Album wise - Master of Puppets is my fav (Load 'of sh1te' being by far the worst)

Love their version of "Whiskey in the Jar".

Radio 1 played Enter Sandman a few weeks ago - had to take the long way home because of that.

Mrs C and I played Metallica at our wedding Signed the register to 'Nothing Else Matters'.

(How many opportunities are there in life to play a heavy metal band to yer granny - and have her sitting there pretending to actually like it? )
