Can anyone recommend a learn from home thing for Spanish please?

Which part of spain are you looking at going to? Just as there are so many variations, Valenciano, Catalan etc etc

Pass! Mainland a little but mainly the Canaries.

get a book on "cockney rhyming slang" it will stand you in better stead, Guv'nor.

I'm afraid I can't remember what regional language it is on the canaries (I'm sure you are well aware of what beemerboy means though, despite quoted text )

I'm sure it's pretty mainstreem stuff there, you should be fine with any of the linguaphone / BBC stuff etc. However, Spanish is one of those languauges where if you don't get the pronunciation spot on they will have great difficulty understaning you, and whilst the home learning stuff is good there is no substitute for actually going to evening class / having a tutor! It will be well worth the time / money.

Thanks Matt,

I knew there were differences between mainland Spain and other countries such as Colombia but i didn't know that there were regional differences as well.

I thought i'd try the home learning first so i don't make an **** of myself at evening school!
