Like I said, if you actually read the content, as opposed to just seeing his anger at Reeve (and other celebs who latch onto causes), you will see he actually speaks a lot of sense, especially the stuff about how cripples are patronised by people.

Although ultimately Christopher Reeve died of a heart attack which put him into a coma, it was the infection of a pressure sore that led to the heart attack.
A paralysed individuals worst nightmare, yet it's so easy to be affected by such a problem.
Concerning that website, although I didn't read it all, I can only think it was written by a paralysed individual.
As far as ever saying he was going to walk again was rubbish. It wasn't giving hope to those already paralysed because they knew the truth. It was giving out false information to those who know nothing about paralysis.
However, celebrities do bring recognition to all kinds of disabilities/illnesses so it can only be a good thing to help research, if nothing else.
RIP.

Why is Reeve an *******?
Simple: because he's selfish. Reeve didn't give a sh*t about paralysis before his accident, but now that he's paralyzed, suddenly he opens up a paralysis foundation and cares about the plight of cripples? Where was his foundation in '95 when he played the role of a man with spinal cord injury? Sure, some of you might argue that he's doing a good thing by bringing attention to paralysis, but the underlying message being sent here is that nobody gives a sh*t about cripples until a celebrity becomes one.

ie,
Anne Diamond, what did she know or do to help couples who had lost there babies through cot death ? Nothing,
it wasn't until she lost her own child to cot death that she actually did something positive to bring it into the homes of everyone.
Would she have do so if her child had not died ?????????
RIP Superman

what utter nonsense a lack of common sense.
Of course you aren't going to press for an issue until you are aware of the problems it causes for yourself.
A celebrity is dammedif they do and in this case if they don't.
Christopher reeve was unlucky in what happened to him but used his position as a celebrity to bring it to people's attention in order to help others.
Other celbs who help when they need not are accused of trying to earn a reputation or because they haev an alterior motive. Eg. princess Diana.
You can't aim to help everyone. He could have been a cancer sufferer previosly, but then woud it have been wrong for himt o switch to pushing stem cell research?
It is common sense to think that you will do what you can for a cause once it affects your own life. Celebrity or not. Everyone is like that. Some people care without needing to be affected themselves. good for them, they are saintly. It doesn't mean that those who choose to help because of bad luck bringin it to their attention are not good people for doing so.
Any help is a good thing.
RIP Christopher Reeve

It seems to be another case of recreational mourning! All these posts with RIP etc. etc.
Roughly 150,000 people will die today around the world. Do you give a **** about any of them? Unlikely, unless you personally know someone who dies today, then you have my condolences. I'm sure some of them are much more deserving of your sympathy than Mr Reeve.
Is it a British disease? Do other nations have emotional outpourings for people they knew nothing of, nor probably cared when they were alive?
Whem I heard about his death this morning, I though "oh what a shame" then moved onto my next thought. Same with Diana. I have a life, and I get on with it, the deaths of these people in inconsequential to me, and also to you, although you may not like to admit it.
It seems to getting worse as well. Next we will be having national holidays because some bit part actress from Eastenders kicked the bucket after snorting cocaine too much, but she HAD given some money to charity once.

His celebrity status (along with Frank Williams) has bought spinal injuries into the public eye, which can only be a good thing for those affected.

Spoon, that's fine, a mark of respect is very honourable indeed. Now please put up an individual RIP for the other 149,999 people who winked out today as a mark of respect for them too.
