Default Nochex - taking online payments

Has anyone sold items online through nochex http://www.nochex.com/

Appears to be a simple and relatively cheap way to take online payments for goods?

Or can anyone recommend something else? Have started a new company and am looking to take online payments.

Thanks

Barrie

If you want your business to be taken seriously, and want total control over your payment options, I'd recommend these:

www.protx.com

...and no, I'm nothing to do with the company, just use them for my own online business.

Paid for stuff via nochex, had no problems.

We use Barclaycard Merchant Services for online payments. Not the cheapest by far.

You could try Protx, who seem to be good value.

I use NOCHEX for ebay buying/selling, and they only charge when you upload/download money from your on-line account and not per transaction. I think there are limits to how much you can have in your account at any one time so this may affect you if you buying/selling a lot.

I use nochex and have done for a while, it is a very cheap service (can be free), no that popular with ebay buyers as it offers no more protection thatn a bank transfer.

I use Nochex as well for Ebay sales. The few times I've used them it's been fine but customers prefer to use Paypal. If you're just selling direct via your own web page I'm sure Nochex will be fine but they do charge a percentage on debit cards (Switch etc) sales rather than a small set fee like most of the other companies.

thanks folks, looks like its either nochex or protx? Will check with the web designer and see what is easier to implement.

Does anyone have a web site set up with either of these two payment methods I could browse through? Either post here or pm me ?

Thanks

The main problem for a commercial site is that people need to register for the service before being able to purchase your product. Not so much of an issue with auctions but not good for a commercial product.

You don't need to register with Nochex if you're paying for something under £100. So for small priced items it's fine.
