help, mouse in the house
In my livingroom there is a cupboard set into the wall that I use as a drinks cabinet and to keep crisps and other munchies in.
When I came back from holidays at the weekend I found several packs of crisps had been raided and mouse poo in the bottom of the cupboard.
Cleaned it up and this evening, another packet of McCoys raided and more poo.
The cupboard doors are a snug fit, so close inspection of the inside turned up a wee hole that looks like it leads into the wall cavity, or maybe through the floor.
I live in the ground floor flat of an old tennemant (sp?) style building, which has a large area under the floor which probably has dozens of ways in and out to outside.
Blocking the hole in the cupboard up is the obvious answer, but will this force them to find other ways into the flat or will they go elsewhere? as it is now, at least they are confined to this one cupboard and cant get into the main rooms.

This reminds me of a friend who had a mouse in the ceiling of his living room. He tried all manner of traps. In the morning the bait was wall ways gone but the mouse was nowhere to be seen. In desparation he removed the cover of a joint box in the ceiling (with the mains off) and placed a Molteaser in the centre of it. The the floor boards were returned (main back on) and all was well.
That night watchin' TV and havin a few beers we noticed the lights flicker....

Get an all metal mousetrap and bait it with galaxy caramel, you will get it in minutes, Think it took 12 minutes to get the first one in our house, then about 3 weeks to get the other 5, think they have all gone now as the trap has been empty and the chocolate is untouched.
But unless you find out where it is getting in you will not be rid of it/them. Set a few traps and then when no more getting caugth fill up the hole in the back of the cupboard...
Failing that burn the house down, should solve the problem....

Hello
That's a shame. I had to do that as well. I tried 3 different brands of humane trap and the little thing managed to get the food and not set it off.
One hour with the "real" mouse trap and one caught (but unfortunately dead) mouse...
Steve.

Yer, its kinda cute. If they didnt eat my crisps and poo everywhere, I wouldnt mind if they lived under the floor as they eat spiders and stuff.
