Freak's selling cars!!!
Sorry just feel the need to have a rant!
Been looking at getting a 205 GTi as a run around and to use on the odd track day.
After looking for a week or so I find a nice one for sale but its a bit of a distance away from me (i'm in hampshire the car is in essex) speak to the guy a couple of times, get a load of photos, agree on a price and then arange with the girlfriend to drive there this afternoon.
Told him what time i'd be getting to his this afternoon, his response was fine as he would be in all day, but as the traffic on the M25 was a nightmare I thought as a courtesy I would let him know I was going to be later then said.
His response "well i'm not going to be in as i've made plans to go out due to not hearing from you to say you've left"
As you can imagine I let rip with a couple of choice words, especially as I didnt even have his home address (we had agreed to meet in a public place) so couldn't go round and actually say what I thought.
So what did I do on a sunday afternoon, see both sides of the southern section of the M25 in the rain.
Rant over,
Steve

On the other side of the coin, the bloke that bought my 92 wrx took 5 weeks to come up with the money, and he still owes me £200. Last thing I said to him was that he MUST run it on optimax, low and behold 3 hours later he rings up asking about check engine lights after doing 120 on normal fuel.

You will find that this life is full of w@nkers. Sounds like you've just been introduced to another. Round here most of them wear dark blue uniforms (But that's just a personal opinion, of course)
...Ooooh, I'm in a good mood tonight

Look at it from his side - he has probably had (as we all have) numerous people saying they will be there but never show.
Maybe he had something arranged that he couldn't get out of?
Not sure how much later you were going to be than the time agreed? 1hour? 2hours? 3?
Get him to drive the car to you next time - remember sellers outnumber buyers!
Good luck next time!
By the way, I NEVER travel more than 10 miles to view a used car - been pi55ed off more than once when its not as described! (the owners tend to lock themselves in their houses when I tell them what I think about their 'immaculate' cars!!)

Sorry Freak!
I was only going to be 1/2 - 3/4 of an hour later than agreed!
As said I just think i've brightened up some numpties day by being a mug.

could be worse- you could have got there and it was shi!te, or you could have sent the guy a deposit and he stitches you up.
Belted down the M4 last month to see and i quote: " The mintest 325i motorsport you will ever see mate- showroom condition"
Mr chavichops (complete with 1" argos chain and three stripe tracksuit) then showed me a car with misaligned panels, very little history and proceeded to get the back end out on the test drive and scare me half to death.
Rougher than a ***** in a crack den, yet another wasted journey
