Lightbulb Does the cable tv come off the same cable as broadband internet (NTL) (last question)

On NTL.
As per title,is the broadband and cable tv off the same cable just with a splitter of sorts?
The reason i ask is i already have broadband in the bedroom, can i have cable tv installed without another extra cable running round the house?

Sorry for all the questions,cheers
Paul.

Yup, one cable into the house into a splitter. Haven't a clue how you'd set it all up though.

assuming it's the same system as in NZ, I just put in a splitter on the cable (it's different from an aerial cable splitter) and then connected one 'out' cable to the cable modem to interpret the computer data signal and the other 'out' cable to a de-coder box to intepret / unlock the TV signal.

Yep, it the same broadband feed for cable TV and internet. NTL would set it all up for you when they install the modem.

Hope this helps, Phill

You need to get the modem fro somewhere, don't you? Oh and you need a tight (leak free) connection. Where are you going to get the splitter from with the correct port to port isolation?

If your paying a bill for the modem then :-

1) Get NTL to move it

2) Why's it not already connected?

Seriously Cable companies have to spend loads of money trying to keep there network clean, loose connector, wrong type cables, etc, etc can and do compromise there network.

Chins over to you and yes I know you "USED" to spend loads of money with me
