Canon 300d digital SLR
I got a little bit carried away on ebay the other night, and I am now the proud owner of a Canon 300d.
However I need a lens - and I have to be honest here, I havent the foggiest what to get!
My dad has the same camera and will lend me a nice zoom lens, but I need one for normal use that has a little bit of zoom.
Can anyone reccomend anything?
Thanks
Dave

The normal zoom range is best covered by one of three lenses IMHO:
- 28-105 f/3.5-4.5 II USM, a good quality, basic zoom lens for about £200
- 28-135 f/3.5-5.6 IS USM, similar sharpness (perhaps slightly less good, but not by far) but with a better zoom range and Canon's fantastic image stabiliser. £350.
- 24-70 f/2.8 L. Tack sharp, built like a tank, weighs about as much as the 300D itself and there's no better lens to cover the normal range. My weapon of choice. £940
