LMAO @ Sipie's post
I have to be honest I envy you mickey! My job is doing horrific damage to my health both phyically and more so mentally but I just don't have the guts to leave it until I find something else to go to that will keep the roof over my head
Good on you for walking out I say

I walked out of my firt job, best career move I've ever made! I got a b*llocking for not having finished a job I should of been able to do whilst the others were out (I was left to run a garage on my own, happened loads of times age 16 - 20), I explained that I'd had customers in and on the phone, that I'd booked work in and taken payments for other jobs but this didn't seem to matter, I was useless, slow etc etc! I thought ***** to this and left there and then
My boss was cool about when I went back to hand my keys in and even said I could come back!
Good luck, keep your chin up, summat'll come along

cheers for all your replys guys, i knew that if i didnt do something dramatic like walking out on the spot then i would have been there for ages just putting up with it and getting by day by day, usually i would be working for 7 - 10 day week's then 2 days off if i was lucky at which point i would feel depressed to buggery coz i had to go back
anyway i feel better today, gonna take a couple weeks off for now and then a change of career, was a chef but now i need something different
cheers

I did the same about 4 years ago now - had the bitch nightmare boss from hell that was trying like mad to get me out, so in the end I just wakled out. Unemployed for 3 months, then got a job, then started my own business in the evenings, then went on my own full time.
Best thing I ever did!!

Yoza's advice........
Start up a 24 hour booze delivery service, check how many are doing it in your area, if no more than a couple have a go.
A guy who started one up in my area has been going for 6-8 months he now has four employees and two vans, he personally went from Citroen Xsara to Porche 996....
Call it... L8 Crates, Booze 2U...
Or.
Start up a door widening service for shops, public buildings etc.
A new law out states all public(AND SOME OTHER) buildings will need wheelchair access, which I agree with by the way.
Call it... Access All Areas.
You may need to be able to knock up a few ramps and bannisters while your there....
Anyone who takes my advice and becomes a millionaire, must give me a loan of their ride.........both.
