Going away in a couple of weeks and got to get to Gatwick anybody ever hired a car from one airport to another and also coming back.

nope - but won't be cheap! I tried to do a one-way hire and wasn't ideal.

Quite a few taxi firms are offering minibus-based airport shuttles that work out loads cheaper than a taxi - not sure where you are but might be worth checking out.

Failing that the Gatwick Express from Victoria isn't overly pricey

Hi mate, I work in car rental and we charge £100 each way also you need to re-fuel it when you come back so thats £200 + fuel. It aint cheap thats why we dont do a lot of one way stuff. Best getting a bus.

i used to work at a dealers and when i delivered cars a long way off i'd hire a rental for the return journey as it was cheaper than the train.
It cost (2 years ago) - group B car (anything from corsa>) £36, fuel (had to be full when they picked it up), insurance (had it on our company insurance), 1 way charge £10
I used Satellite rentals 01484 456123 (if they still do it) - they'd arange for a local rental company (hertz, avis, etc) to deliver the car wherever i wanted and to be collected from wherever

I did it...

i hired a car from luxembourg and dropped it off at stuttgart airport..

cost the thick end of 500 euros (1 days hire)


dont you just love avis!!
