Website to sell house privately?
Hi,
My little bruv is trying to move at the moment and has had one bad experience with a prospective buyer already. I suggested he (well, me ...) coulod advertise it online but was wondering if anyone here could recommend any sites in particular?
Thanks
Dave
PS: it's in Cornwall ....

Your problem is that most people look at sites like Right Move, Vebra, Asserta and Fish. AFAIK you have to register as an Agent to be able to use their sites and pay the appropriate fee which would probably make it prohibative.
You need to be careful as well. When you sign up with an Estate Agent you usually sign an agreement that they have exclusive selling rights for a period (13 weeks often) before you can make use of another agent or sack them. If you take it off the market and put it back on a couple of weeks later that still counts. So you may well find there isn't much he can do for now (in the same boat myself).
Estate agents generally seem to provide a pretty poor service I have to say.

Take some decent pictures and advertise privately in your local rag. Mate of mine does this and has sold three house without any problems. Cost you £100 to £150 and save a couple of thousand....
